EMN is an EU funded network, set up with the aim of providing up-to-date, objective, reliable and comparable information on migration and asylum. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has led to the largest refugee crisis in Europe since World War II. The conference enables the exchange of experiences, dialogue and mutual learning about migration and asylum in the Nordic countries.

Anna Lindblad, Deputy Head of Legal Department at the Swedish Migration Agency and Delegation Member at Delmi, will participate in the first panel discussion with representatives from the migration units of the other Nordic countries. The panelists will provide facts about the number of refugees from Ukraine that the countries have received and the implementation of the Temporary Protection Directive, including success factors or challenges in the reception system.

Olle Hammar, Ph.D. in Economics and one of the authors of Delmis Policy Brief How large will the Ukrainian refugee flow be, and which EU countries will they seek refuge in? (2022:3), will participate in the second panel discussion with representatives from, among other, UNHCR and the Ukrainian Alliance in Sweden. The panelists will discuss possible future developments and trends in the Nordic countries with regards to refugees from Ukraine, focusing on, among other things, the EU's response to the new refugee situation.
