Torbjörn is retired and is currently a student. He was until recently Assistant Director General and Head of the Department for International Organisations and Policy Support at Sida. He brings a wealth of diplomatic experience, having served as the Swedish Ambassador to Ethiopia and Afghanistan, as well as Special Envoy to the African Union. Torbjörn is also a board member of the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law.
In his capacity as Head of Mission, Torbjörn has been responsible for steering the bilateral dialogue on migration between Sweden and both Ethiopia and Afghanistan.
