This upcoming systematic review outlines the existing literature on non-economic factors associated with voluntary return migration. The review will focus primarily on the role of host governments in encouraging and supporting voluntary returns, considering both positive and negative consequences of government interventions. The systematic review will also address how the effects of government interventions vary depending on conditions in the host and home countries, and characteristics of the target immigrant populations.
