Delmi's new Research Overview Climate Change, Displacement, Mobility and Migration: The State of Evidence, Future Scenarios, Policy Options shows that natural disasters and climate change have, and will continue to have, a major impact on people's lives, conditions and mobility.

But even if natural disasters and climate change affect people's mobility, it has not, despite earlier estimates, driven international migration to a large extent. In episode 19 of the Delmi podcast, Rainer Münz, one of the authors of the Research Overview, is interviewed about what we previously assumed about future climate-related migration, what we actually know right now, what we can expect and what options there are going forward to mitigate and adapt us to the effects of climate change. Rainer Münz is an expert on demography and international migration. He is currently a visiting university professor at the Central European University and the Diplomacy Academy in Vienna, Austria. The Research Overview was written together with Mathias Czaika, Professor of Migration and Integration and Head of the Department of Migration and Globalization at Danube University, Krems, Austria.

Hosts: Daniel Silberstein and Anna Hammarstedt
