Within the framework of the AMIF-funded Delmi project " Return as international migration policy: coordination within and across national borders", the second part of this project, relating to Nordic cooperation when it comes to the issue of return, is now being launched. How can we, nationally and internationally, achieve a return process that, in addition to being efficient, sustainable and humane, also contributes to increasing voluntary returns? Central to the second project is to investigate whether a strengthened Nordic cooperation regarding the implementation and coordination of return policy and practice can play an important role in reaching this goal.
The project focuses on the relationship between the Nordic countries and seeks to answer some of the following questions:
- What formal and informal networks currently exist between Nordic countries when it comes to the cooperation and coordination of return and readmission policies and practices?
- How effective are these networks, where is there room for improvement, and what obstacles for Nordic cooperation exist?
- How can the design of Nordic countries’ national return and readmission policies and practices affect opportunities for cooperation and coordination between Nordic countries?
- How can Nordic cooperation regarding the implementation and coordination of return policies and practices promote return processes that are sustainable, effective, and humane?
